I consulted with Sue Johnson via email and provided Chris a response via email: --------- Forwarded message --------- From: Lee, Brian <brian.lee@dnr.iowa.gov> Date: Tue, Nov 17, 2020 at 11:45 AM Subject: CRTs To: Christopher Bettin <bettinc@ottumwa.us> Chris, I attached our list of CRT collection sites and Ottumwa's recycling center is on the list. There are a few other locations in the area, but the list may be outdated a little as well. As we discussed, homeowners can landfill televisions (under the household hazardous waste exemption), but your facility's specific rules likely will overrule that. Regarding CRTs and commercial hauling, if the waste originated from a household and a commercial hauler picks it up for disposal and delivers direct to the landfill, it is still exempt under the household rule. There are some issues with hauling and moving/accumulating CRTs that would render that exemption void.
