9/3/2020	Scott Antzen submitted a disaster debris management plan for the tree damage from the August 10th derecho. Staging and burning is at 1200 Venbury; ashes go to 110 8th Ave. NE & 1000 Venbury My response by email: Your request to stage and burn tree debris from the recent derecho storm in Altoona is hereby approved. I would advise you to minimize smoldering by allowing the material to dry out and burning only small piles at a time. You should also only burn when atmospheric and terrestrial conditions are favorable to avoid nuisance and safety risks. You should notify nearby residents when you plan to burn too. Ashes may be taken to a sanitary landfill (could mix with soil for daily cover), land applied thinly to not harm agronomic quality of the soil (away from waterways), and used in feedlots to dry out soils. Your plan is being forwarded to the Polk County Air Quality Division.	BILL GROSS
