7/7/2020 Gastineau, Janet <janet.gastineau@dnr.iowa.gov> 5:19 PM (2 minutes ago) to Taroon, Bob Osceola is having trouble getting their sludge blanket back after some work was done on it toward the end of May. Wasting a lot of filtered water because high settled turbidity levels are plugging off filters. His engineer is recommending bentonite be added to form the blanket. Raw turbidity is very low right now (like 2 NTU). He's trying to transfer some blanket from one to the other clarifier too. Have you ever heard of adding bentonite for this purpose. NSF concerns for sure. Any other suggestions from your experience? JANET GASTINEAU
7/7/2020 Can't keep my blanket down in one of the clarifiers. Had some work done on it and it hasn't been the same since. MOR may have some strange numbers and I wanted you to know. It's been up and down since the end of may. Wasting a lot of water trying to get the clarifier back up. Settled turbidity too high and blinding filters. JANET GASTINEAU
