6/29/2020 Steve called wanting to know what DNR is doing to get Chamness to stop smoking out the neighborhood and in general creating nuisance conditions for all the neighbors. Steve complained about the massive pile of pallets aren't getting ground up, that no windrows have been built in years, odor, smoke from the fires, litter from the plastic and the compost that is stored off the pad. I explained that DNR has taken EA against Chamness and that we continue to work with Gary and his staff to get the company into compliance. I also mentioned that DNR's not able to just shut down businesses unless they have non-compliance that is leading to constant environmental pollution, which is not the case with Chamness. Much of what Steve and the other neighbors complain about is ongoing nuisance. KURT LEVETZOW
