4/10/2020	Due to a complaint filed by a neighbor, to HyVee, John Scanlon, an executive with HyVee called me to ask a few questions about Chamness. He said a neighbor called complaining that there is a 50' mountain of compost and claimed all sorts of problems. John called to get DNR's perspective. I explained to John that due to the lack of windrows and collapsed drains and a wet spring in 2019 led to leachate discharge coupled with the failure to comply with their operations plan, DNR referred Chamness. I explained that we've settled the ACO, issuing Chamness a new permit with different requirements (more stringent operations plan, along with requirements to meet with DNR quarterly and come up with a leachate management plan). I explained that I'd like to see windrows reestablished and John indicated that Gary had told him that 90 days from now they'll have windrows back. I told John i'd love to see that happen and think that'd help ease some of the problems we see. John thanked me for my time.	KURT LEVETZOW
