2/18/2020	Abe called with questions about possibly building a cattle confinement building on his property in the NE 1/4 of Jenkins Twp., Section 15, Mitchell County. The site would be approximately 4,400 feet from his home site so the 100 head building would not affect the AU's in confinement at the home site. We discussed the applicable separation distances for a SAFO. It turns out that it would be near the Wapsipinicon River, which is a major water source, so the 1,000 foot separation distance would apply if the building is a confinement. If he builds a partially roofed open lot the distance would not apply.	DAN BRATRUD
