1/29/2020 Yusuf emailed me at 12:45 PM on January 27, 2019 asking the following: My questions are: 1) Does this only apply for drinking water well or all types of well, even if the water used for cooling tower? 2) If the well-used for drinking water, does the water test must directly come from the well after it is pumped or after the water has been treated, such as at the SEP? I called Mr. Setiawan back after consulting with A.Pickens and confirmed the well had been rehabilitated per the definition of well rehabilitation in IAC 567 Chapter 49. Therefore, a bacterial sample and nitrate sample were to be collected from the well. Mr. Setiawan also stated the well had been shock chlorinated. This particular well is only used for cooling tower water makeup is separated from the public water supply wells with backflow prevention. While on the phone, Mr. Setiwan also asked about a pump repair to one of there other wells which is used for drinking water purposes. I recommended to Mr. Setiawan that a bacterial sample be collected from this well prior to being put back online. BENJAMIN STRACUZZI
