11/22/2019	I called Dennis Kuehl on 11/22/2019 to confirm that he was working towards completing the actions required following a manure spill at his Chicago Unit (65281) swine confinement on 10/4/2019. Denny stated that he had not read the letter or report yet because he’s been busy and didn’t realize that he needed to do anything. I advised him that the documents required that, by December 31, he have an engineer evaluate the pit to propose a fix for the opening where the pit fan tubes penetrate the pit walls and that he locate the outfall for the groundwater lowering tile. Denny stated that he wouldn’t let the manure get that high again. I explained that, since the openings resulted in a discharge, he would need to provide a permanent fix. I also advised Denny that the fix should be approved by Paul Petitti before being implemented. Denny stated that he would contact Quality Ag, the contractor that built the building, and ask what they had done to repair other sites that were built in a similar way. Per Denny, the tube-type pit fans were specified by M2P2, the first company that he contracted to feed pigs for at the site. Denny also thought that Quality Ag would have a record of where the groundwater lowering tile outfall was.	DAN OLSON
