3/25/2019 From: Moles, Diane <[email protected]> Date: Friday, March 22, 2019 Subject: Des Moines Water Works To: "roger.bruner" <[email protected]>, "Moeller, Mark" <[email protected]>, Corey Mccoid <[email protected]>, Dan Cook <[email protected]>, Alex Moon <[email protected]> Ted Corrigan called a few moments ago about the DM ANG report, as he'd been interviewed by Kate Payne of IPR for 30 minutes this afternoon. He received a portion of the report yesterday, which is marked Final. I referred him to Roger, with whom he'd spoken earlier, and to Dan Cook, who could provide the full report and maybe more of the background information on the process. Ted will likely collect some drinking water samples at the Fleur plant, as he feels that's prudent. His primary concern is the outfall to Frick (sp?) Creek that flows to the river. The measured value was 7000 ug/L at that location. He asked in general about treatment techniques in drinking water, and asked about PAC in specific. The Fleur and Maffitt Plants do not have GAC in their filter beds; Saylorville has membranes which purport to have excellent removal of PFAS. PAC can remove PFAS but it's not as effective as GAC. He appreciates any assistance the department can provide. JANET GASTINEAU
3/22/2019 Gastineau, Janet <[email protected]> 7:58 AM (0 minutes ago) to Roger, Alex I received a call from Ted Corrigan with DMWW. IPR provided him a copy of the report on the Iowa Air Guard and is expecting a response. He's interested in fate and transport. According to Ted, the DMWW gallery is less than two miles from there. I provided him with your name and number to discuss further. JANET GASTINEAU
