3/14/2019 Gastineau, Janet <[email protected]> Thu, Mar 14, 2019 at 8:11 AM To: "Woodruff, Carter" <[email protected]> Cc: "Danley, Kyle" <[email protected]>, "Adams, Mike" <[email protected]> This seems reasonable to me, especially if Hach doesn't have a 1 NTU for the newest turbidimeter. One thing I failed to mention the other day was the need for a monitoring alert and sampling plan for the North-former SE Polk system that is chloraminated. I've attached a template/guidance for the alert portion of the plan; the sample siting plan will discuss where samples will be collected based on areas of the DS that are most vulnerable to and the best indicators of nitrification. You know that system's baseline values, but you will have to identify multilevel conditions and responses to the daily process control monitoring. At this time, I'm not asking you to submit it, but please make sure it is available for review during the 2020 sanitary survey when the DS is inspected. JANET GASTINEAU

I did find an email from you on January 8 of this year implying that a 20 NTU ICE-PIC was acceptable to use. We have recently installed a TU 5300 turbidimeter at the McMullen plant. Apparently, Hach does not have a 1 NTU standard available but do have a 20 NTU standard. I’m wanting to use the 20 NTU standard for Hach for verifications on the TU 5300 . I’m also wanting to use a 20 NTU ICE-PIC on the 1720 E turbidimeters. I spoke with Hach this morning and they agree that this is acceptable and will exchange the 1 NTU ICE-PIC with 20 NTU ICE-PICS at no cost. Do I have your blessing to proceed? Thank you. 3/12/2019 Carter says, yes, they are using 30 second averaging on the turbidimeters. JANET GASTINEAU

3/12/2019 Gastineau, Janet <[email protected]> 12:14 PM (0 minutes ago) to Christopher, Anne My notes from the meeting today: Add TP08 for Army Post ASR. Add DS for Army Post ASR. Add a SEP for North (former SE polk) Add coliform bacteria 1 sample/month for Army Post ASR. Page 8 for routine monitoring, just specify Saylorville WTP (rather than using RO). Check with Bob on whether we keep the phosphate, as PO4, or something else knowing they don't use a blended phosphate. Apply the static and pumping levels to the three ASR only. Since these are radial collector wells, not traditional groundwater wells, I'm fine with that. Page 10 for SW requirements, please specify "total chlorine and monochloramine (North - former SE Polk)" at the SEP and DS daily. Create additional entries to ensure daily DS disinfectant residual is measured daily and continuously at the SEP at the other two plants. Page 10 also, Turbidity CFE should be "record every 15 minutes of operation per the 2/28/2019 turbidimeter calibration and verification protocol." Page 10 Corrosion Control Treatment add S/EP 08 to pH comments. Whatever changes Taroon has to page 13. I'll take a look at the drafted changes for you too. Thanks! JANET GASTINEAU
