1/29/2019	Upon reciept of the NOV letter, Eric called to clarify if they would be able to only reduce animals below 500 AU but not completely close the older barn. They could still use it seasonally and it would provide them more space per animal. So they would always maintain less than 500 AU at the facility, just spread them out more in the barns, no physical changes to barns to lower capacity. They would keep the newest barn set up to house more AU in the winter months since it's max capacity is approximately 1000 head. I discussed the question with senior AFO staff and DNR legal staff to determine if this was an option. It was determined that stated existing capacity would remain unless there were physical changes to the barns to permanently decrease AU. I called Eric back and informed him that the barn would have to be closed to be considered a permanent change to capacity. He stated this was fine as the cost of repairs was too great to keep the building in operation. He said the last hogs will be sold out of the barn in the next 4 weeks and they will not restock. I asked that he inform me when the barns is officially closed so their animal numbers can be updated.	DANIEL WATTERSON
