10/1/2018 Brad Seward called to provide an update regarding the issues determined at the time time of the last DNR visit. The exposed waste in cell E-1 is approximately 95% covered with 6" of soil. A couple areas need to have soil cover added. The ponded area on the west edge of E-1 has been remediated. A pump was off and it was restarted. The exposed liner on E-1 has not had the sand replaced yet, but that is planned soon so that additional waste (first lift) can be applied in that area. The exposed liner on the north side of Phase 0 also plans to be addressed. The exposed waste in Phase 1 will be addressed with 2 feet of intermediate cover in the near future. I requested that the contractor continue to haul as needed to get the waste properly covered as soon as feasible. This office will visit the landfill this quarter to assess progress and compliance.
