Dead fish were reported on the north end of West Okoboji Lake. Hundreds of fish (mostly yellow bass or yellow bass/white bass hybrids) were found along the north shoreline. Some of the fish exhibited lesions indicating bacterial/viral infection. Most of the fish were large and likely the same year class indicating a spawning/age mortality event. Very few bluegill, bullheads, largemouth bass were also found. Likely coinciding with spawning stress and age.
