The kill stretched for 9.31 miles from nearly the headwaters of the creek to the Mississippi River. The majority of fish killed were minnow species. A fair number ofsmallmouthbass were encountered near the mouth of the stream. The grand total for the investigation is $5,206.34. Unfortunately, a responsible party has not been identified. There is a livestock confinement located in the vicinity of the origin of the kill. Environmental Services staff mentioned that an inspection will be done in the near future in order to determine if that facility was involved in any way.
