From Fisheries report:
We found dead fish (including a brown trout) at the “upper concrete ford” nearest the east gate of White Pine Hollow Preserve as originally reported to DCCB by a preserve visitor. Dead fish were in advance decay and it was difficult to determine species for many of the specimens. We made the decision to hike approximately 3 miles round-trip to the confluence of White Pine Hollow and Point Hollow Creek at that time to determine impacts to the trout fishery in the lower preserve and to determine the lowest extent of dead fish in the stream. We walked upstream from the confluence until we encountered dead fish at a location 3050 feet below the lower concrete stream crossing within the preserve. Dangerous weather conditions (extreme heat and humidity) were encountered by the time we reached the lower stream crossing at 12:00, so we departed the area to resume counts on July 7.
