Onsite Comments
A heavy blue-green algae bloom lead to a diurnal oxygen sag on the weekend of July 22-23. Dead fish were reported to Conservation Officers on July 23rd . Due to the nature of the kill and spatial distribution of fish, no exact counts of fish loss were made. It is estimated that around 10,000 fish were killed. Most of these were small bluegill and largemouth bass. Small yellow perch were also killed, but in much fewer numbers than the bluegill and bass.
