Onsite Comments
There are dead fish, numbering in the thousands along the SE corner of the lake. It looks like the fish have been dead for at least 12 hours and have recently been deposited on the shoreline. No new fish were floating and coming in. Many species and sizes observed. Most of the fish are yellow perch (all sizes), log perch, and other small game fish.
This is very similar in scale, species composition, and location of the kills we observed on August 19th, 2009 and August 7th, 2014. A series of calm days and a minor cyanobacteria bloom followed by strong NW winds were observed at each of these kills.
