Onsite Comments
Thousands of dead fish were reported at Pine Lakes was reported to the DNR. Most of the fish killed were bluegill and crappie, but biologists also found a few dead largemouth bass, catfish, bullheads and gizzard shad. Environmental sampling was done on Pine Lakes, but no contamination was detected. Oxygen levels in the water were also at normal levels. The fish appear to have died before the heavy weekend rains, most likely cause rapid rising/falling temperatures stressing fish.
