Onsite Comments

Started behind the second street lift station just above the intersection of Hwy 64 and Shaw Road and continued approximately one mile to the confluence with Fawn Creek.

Responsible party for the fish kill in the unnamed tributary to Fawn Creek was the City of Anamosa, 107 South Ford Street, Anamosa, Ia 52205.

The fish kill was a result of an unauthorized intentional bypass 50,000-65,000 gallons of raw human waste at the Second Street lift station. Unauthorized bypass occurred on October 22 and we received a call from Mike Wade at 8:00 am on October 23rd to inform us of the fish kill. The fish counts were conducted that day on October 23rd. Live fish were observed in the stream along with the dead fish. Leaf litter in the stream made the counts difficult.
