Many dead fish were observed in the first retention pond in the park, with fish struggling in the second retention pond. Water entering the pond was creating a pink foam and a strong odor. The dissolved oxygen was tested with results of 3.5 mg/l, which is low for a surface water body and impairs aquatic life. Wastewater decomposition was the likely cause. Species killed included bluegill, channel catfish, and largemouth bass.
