From USARMY CEMVR: We seem to be in the midst of a fish kill at Coralville Reservoir. I mentioned this in last week’s Coralville Water Quality summary, but wanted to update you guys with pictures and more details, since it has persisted to this week. Last Monday (7/8) while sampling, we observed 60-80 dead fish, ranging in size from 6-30 inches long, floating between Sugar Bottom Campground and Lake McBride. Most were catfish, with a few carp mixed in. Last week, all water quality readings were normal, DO of 8-9, reasonable chlorophyll and Phycocyanin values.

This week we are still seeing a few dead fish washing up, though more only a few bluegill this week. DO was higher today, 14-17 mg/L, and it looks like we have a few algae blooms at our beaches.
