Onsite Comments
The cause of the kill was a fertilizer spill into the stream as determined by IA DNR, ESD FO1. Live fish and mussels were observed throughout, however, signs of struggle and distress were visible in mussel spp. Several live mussels were observed with their foot fully extended or sitting on top of the substrate.
