A new Recirculation Aquaculture System was built at the Rathbun Fish Culture Research Facility to experimentally grow fish. All water processes are dependent on equipment operation. As such, power loss and equipment failures can result in fish death. Essential equipment will be monitored by a new Dedicated Operator Interface (DOI) that communicates with existing DOI and PLC programs to call out in the event of an alarm condition. Additionally, the DOI will control a new style of feeders that requires a program and power control system.
