The following projects are currently advertised for bids. Interested bidders may find general information about each project, as well as printable actual Contract Documents in PDF format. The general information is the same project description provided to Newspapers and by direct mail solicitations. The Contract Documents include the Drawings and the entire Project Manual. Drawings can be printed on any regular or large format printers. The Project Manual includes Proposal Forms, Front End Documents, General and Supplementary Covenants, and Technical specifications. All these are also completely printable.
Effective October 2009, the Department will no longer be responsible for providing hard copy notice to bidders or addenda to either contractors or plan rooms. An email listserv has been created to communicate electronically with vendors currently on file with the DNR. As a member of this listserv, you will receive electronic notice to bidder information on a regular basis.

This project consists of improving the existing shooting range by constructing earthen berms, concrete sidewalks, storm sewer, gravel parking, and steel-framed shooting structures for a 30-yard range, a 100-yard range, and a shotgun area.
The base bid for the Rathbun State Fish Hatchery improvement project includes the work necessary to remove the existing liner, repair any grading issues, install new liner, install concrete apron around the existing kettles and stairs, and repair the existing sluice gates. Bid alternate 1 includes the removal of the existing concrete stairs and installation of 6- aluminum stairs with railing. Bid alternate 2 includes removal and replacement of the existing aerators and all electrical service required to power the aerators. Bid alternate 3 includes removal and replacement of all 6-in. butterfly valves and one 8-in. butterfly valve located in Manhole 1.
This project consists of adding a portland cement concrete approach to the existing boat ramp, replace/repair the existing parking area that has been washed away by flooding, install rock veins into the Des Moines River and installing riprap to the upstream riverbank to protect the boat ramp in Boone County, Iowa and includes clearing and grubbing, grading, and installation of a new concrete approach to the existing boat ramp with adjacent gravel parking area along with rock veins and adding riprap to the riverbanks upstream and downstream of the existing boat ramp.
This project consists of constructing underwater fish habitat rock reefs and extending the existing Mosquito Creek outlet pipe. Habitat construction consists of placing approximately 1,140 tons of class D revetment in the lake by barge in 15-ton piles. Extending the Mosqiuto Creek outlet pipe consists of removing rock from the outlet, sliding in a 40-foot long stick of HPDE pipe, and armoring the shoreline above the pipe. Site restoration is required on all disturbed areas. All work to start after Labor Day.

This project is designed to create a wetland pool located on the Williams Wildlife Management Area (WMA), O'Brien County, IA. Work under this project includes earthfill (+-8,000 CY), excavation of a spillway, tile work (investigation, installation, breaks, surface outlets) and installation of an inline water control structure.

The Ranger's house located at 1519 250th Street, Madrid, IA 50156 is scheduled to be moved to another location by May 1, 2025. The remaining portions of the residence need to be removed and disposed of offsite. Remaining portions consists of concrete foundations, concrete flatwork, a wooden deck, a gravel drive, a lift station, a light pole, and an electrical panel. Clean fill material obtained from behind the park office is to be hauled in to fill in the excavation and compacted to level ground.
The Ranger's house at Viking Lake State Park, 2910 Aldersgate Drive, Villisca, IA 50864 has been moved to another location leaving the foundations, floors and miscellaneous items that need to be demolished and disposed of offsite. The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to complete this work as well as fill foundation void with adjacent soils placed and compacted to match surrounding ground.

SHINGLE ROOF REPLACEMENTS

The scope of this project includes the removal and replacement of asphalt shingle roofing on 3 structures located at the Loess Hill State Forest Headquarters, Harrison County, IA, and 4 structures in Lewis & Clark State Park, Monona County, IA. Work will include removal of all existing roofing, replacement of any deteriorated roof sheeting, and installation of new asphalt shingle roofing with associated flashings. Total project area is approximately 138 S.Q.

The granular-surfaced low water crossing located at the entrance of the Deception Hollow boat ramp has recently been damaged by large flows. This project will stabilize the low water crossing by installing 10' tall sections of SKL-12 sheet piling along the downstream toe of the crossing from bank to bank (22 sections, approximately 40'), to match the approximate elevation of the low water crossing profile. Once installed, the top of the piling will be trimmed and a ¼" thick C-channel is to be stitch-welded to cap the top of the piling. The upstream side of the piling is to be backfilled gabion stone (3" to 5" gradation) meeting IDOT specification 4130.08, approximately 30 tons. The downstream side of the of piling is to have IDOT Class E Revetment placed at a 2:1 slope, approximately 15 tons.
