The following projects are currently advertised for bids. Interested bidders may find general information about each project, as well as printable actual Contract Documents in PDF format. The general information is the same project description provided to Newspapers and by direct mail solicitations. The Contract Documents include the Drawings and the entire Project Manual. Drawings can be printed on any regular or large format printers. The Project Manual includes Proposal Forms, Front End Documents, General and Supplementary Covenants, and Technical specifications. All these are also completely printable.
Effective October 2009, the Department will no longer be responsible for providing hard copy notice to bidders or addenda to either contractors or plan rooms. An email listserv has been created to communicate electronically with vendors currently on file with the DNR. As a member of this listserv, you will receive electronic notice to bidder information on a regular basis.

This project includes repairs to two historically significant shelters in Ledges State Park near Boone, Iowa.
Oakwood Shelter - The structure has shifted due to tree falling on the shelter. The entire log structure is to be disassembled. New column footings will be constructed and new log columns set on top. Log structure to be reassembled using original log components wherever possible. The existing roof and roof framing will be demolished and removed. A new log purlin roof will be constructed on the reassembled log framing structure. The stone chimney will need cleaning and repointing. Fireplace brick to be cleaned and repointed. Brick floor and concrete walkway need cleaning and sealing. Electrical conduits and receptacles to be rerouted and painted similar to existing. An ADA compliant concrete pad will be constructed to appropriately access the shelter's grill.
Henning Shelter - Repairs to the shelters timber beams are needed at some bearing locations. Flashing is in need of repair at stone chimney and roof intersection. Realignment of log framing to be completed.

This project is located on the shore of East Okoboji Lake at Isthmus Park and the Spirit Lake Fish Hatchery. It includes tree and brush clearing, stump grinding in Isthmus Park, 860 linear (shoreline) feet of coir logs, and 222 tons of shoreline riprap armoring. It includes 1.5 acres of turf grass seeding, 1 acre of native seeding and 2.5 acres of mulching. A NPDES Permit #2 and SWPPP are required.
Project includes replacement of outdated HVAC units and controls. Project also includes replacements of geothermal system vault, valves, and glycol. Repairs will restore proper balancing and function to essential building HVAC systems.
This project includes the removal and replacement of most of a boat ramp, a 30'x50' parking lot, and a small quantity of sidewalk. To improve the boat ramp's function, portions of the boat ramp and parking lot will be raised approximately one foot with special backfill. Seeding, mulching, class E riprap, and erosion control are also included.

Work consists of removing existing clay tiles on the aquarium portion of the hatchery. Existing dormers will be removed and areas infilled. Install new architectural shingles and parapet wall flashing.
This project includes installing a 60' pedestrian bridge at Lake Keomah State Park. The bridge is currently located in the Stephens State Forest near Lucas, Iowa. Contractor is to transport the bridge to Lake Keomah, install footings, and install the bridge over the spillway.

The ranger's residence at Union Grove State Park is being removed from the site prior to the commencement of this contract.
This project includes complete removal of basement walls and floor. Sewer and water will be capped outside of the building footprint. The hole will be filled with contractor-supplied clay and compacted.
