Well Statuses
There are 10 well statuses used in the IWIS database. The statuses are explained below:

Permitted: Permit issued only - only proposed well information entered.

Expired: Permit issued - one year has passed and no information has been entered into the well construction details section (wells tab), water quality tab, or well plugging tab.

Active: Well created without permit - no water test or well log.

Active Water Test: Permitted or non-permitted well with only a water test recorded - no well construction details.

Active Logged: Permitted or non-permitted well with well construction details entered, but no water test.

Active Completed: Permitted or non-permitted well with well construction details entered and a water test.

Standby: The well is not currently used but will be returned to service in the near future. Only wells migrated from the PWTS database have this status available.

Inactive: Taken out of service but not plugged.

Plugged: Once a well plugging record has been entered, the well changes to plugged.

Withdrawn: The well will not be constructed - the permit had been revoked/removed.
