Sites

Each site completed by the UA/UAA field staff was given a unique identification (ID) number which is used to track the number of sites completed and where these sites are located. This site number is used solely as a unique identifier. The ID number contains the facility number of a facility that discharges within the stream or discharges into a tributary of the stream. It also contains a number, letter or a combination of the two in order to distinguish the sites from each other. These site numbers do not have any significance to the work completed or any meaning other than a unique identifier of the site.

Facility Number

In the early stages of the UA/UAA process a list of NPDES facilities affected by the rebuttable presumption was compiled and each facility was given a unique number. These numbers are used to identify the facility

Rule Making Required

In order to remove a Class A1 or Class B(WW-1) designation rule making is required. If the assessment of the stream finds that these designations do not need removal then rule making is not required. Also streams that are determined to be truly intermittent are not subject to the rebuttable presumption therefore rulemaking is not necessary

Posted Date

According to Iowa Code 455B.176A, any regulated entity or property owner adjacent to the assessed stream segment aggrieved by such a determination may make a written request, within thirty days from the date the written determination of the appropriate use designation is made available to the public, for a meeting with the director or the director's designee. A regulated entity or property owner adjacent to the accessed stream segment shall be allowed to provide evidence that the designation is not appropriate under the criteria as established in this subsection.
The Posted Date is when the 30-day period begins.

End of 30-day Period

The last day in which any regulated entity or property owner adjacent to the assessed stream segment aggrieved by such a determination may make a written request for a meeting with the director or the director's designee according to Iowa Code 455B.176A.
