As part of an effort to make the costs of the lawn application of compost competitive with the costs of using commercial fertilizers, MWA applied for funding to purchase and put into service four (4) compost spreaders. The compost spreaders would be supplied to local landscapers and/or landscape supply companies via an RFP process used to identify companies with a willingness to promote the use of compost and provide the service at a cost competitive with commercial fertilizer applications.
