Fishing Forecast

Spring electrofishing showed a moderate abundance of largemouth bass of all sizes up to 17-inches in both ponds. Bluegills were sampled in moderate abundance in both ponds. Most bluegill sampled were less than 7-inches long.(2018)

Like all living creatures, fish are susceptible to diseases, parasites, and other naturally occurring conditions in the water. If you suspect your fish is affected by any of these conditions, do not eat it. Consider eating smaller and younger fish which usually have lower levels of contaminants than larger ones.   • 2016 - Survey-Population: An electrofishing survey was conducted on both Ringgold ponds in spring 2016.
  • 2015 - Survey-Population: A standard sample was conducted on both Ringgold ponds with electrofishing and fyke netting.
  • 2014 - Survey-Population: A standard sample was conducted on both Ringgold ponds with electrofishing and fyke netting gears.
  • 2013 - Survey-Population: A standard sample was conducted on both Ringgold ponds with electrofishing and fyke netting gear.
  • 2013 - Fishery Renovation-Chemical-Rotenone: Both Ringgold Unit ponds were renovated to remove grass carp. Grass carp were found to make up 210 pounds to the acre. Both ponds were restocked to restore the fish population.
  • 2011 - Survey-Population: A standard sample was conducted on both Ringgold ponds with electrofishing gear.
