Fishing Summary

Yellow bass and white crappie are numerous, but small. Anglers can also target decent sized channel catfish and a few largemouth bass. A few walleye and flathead catfish are occasionally caught. - Last updated on 01/14/2025.

In nearly all cases, Iowa fish are safe to eat. Cleaning and/or preparing the meal causes most of the problems regarding taste or color of fish. Like all living creatures, fish are susceptible to diseases, parasites, and other naturally occurring conditions in the water. If you suspect your fish is affected by any of these conditions, do not eat it. Consider eating smaller and younger fish which usually have lower levels of contaminants than larger ones.   • 2023 - Water Sampling-Dissolved Oxygen: Taken in 7 feet of water.
  • 2023 - Aeration-Both: Removed aeration blowers. Turner over building to the landowner.
  • 2022 - Water Sampling-Dissolved Oxygen: Took readings at the North ramp(19.1ppm) middle (19.5ppm) and South ramp(15.5ppm)
  • 2021 - Water Sampling-Dissolved Oxygen: Took readings at the North(14.2ppm) and South(12.0ppm) boat ramp
  • 2016 - Water Sampling-Dissolved Oxygen: winter monitoring results
  • 2016 - Aeration-Maintenance: installed new belts on aeration blower. Only one unit currently working (second blower seized up)
  • 2015 - Fish Cleaning Station-Fish Cleaning Station: No electricity or feshwater available. Cleaning table with hand pump for lake water available.
