The Iowa Department of Natural Resources issues a weekly fishing report on Thursdays in an effort to provide the latest information heading into the weekend. The weekly fishing report is compiled from information gathered from local bait shops, angler creel surveys, and county and state parks staff. For current information, contact the district fisheries office at the phone number listed at the end of each district report.
MISSISSIPPI RIVER
Water level in the tailwaters at Lynxville is 615 feet and is predicted to rise slightly around 615.4 feet next week. Boat ramps at Nobles Island, Marquette, McGregor, Bussey Lake and Sny MaGill are open.

Upper Mississippi River levels on Pools 9 -11 are rising slightly this week. All boat ramps have reopened. Water temps are in the mid 80's. A lot of weeds floating but water clarity is good. Fish are seeking cooler water at deeper depths and areas with some current.
Water level at Dubuque Lock and Dam is stable and is at 6.2 feet and the RR Bridge is at 8.6 feet. Temperature is back up around 80.

White bass have been a consistent in the creel. Try some flashy spinners in the tailwater areas.
Water level at Bellevue is stable and presently is near 6.4 feet. Water temperature is 80 degrees and water is clear.

Some vegetation is starting to float after the flood making keeping a crankbait in the water a tad difficult.
White Bass

White bass are being caught in the Bellevue tailwaters on white jigs or small spinners.
Water level at Fulton is stable and presently near 6.0 feet, 10.2 feet at Camanche and 5.1 feet at LeClaire. Water temperature is 81 degrees and water is clear.

Tailwater stage at Lock and Dam 15 in the Quad Cities is 6.34 feet and forecasted to stay fairly steady the next few days. Floodstage is 15 feet.

Mississippi River Pools 16-19: River stages have been falling this past week. Main channel water temperature is around 82 degrees and water clarity is fair. If you have questions on fishing Pools 16-19 contact the Fairport Fish Hatchery at 563-263-5062.
NORTHEAST
Cedar River (above Nashua)
Mitchell dam in Mitchell will undergo a rehabilitation project on the powerhouse intake structure requiring the impoundment to be lowered by October 1. River levels will be lowered one foot per day until desired levels achieved and maintained during the work. After completion, water levels will be allowed to return. Users should prepare for limited access due to lowered water levels. The river below the dam will not be dewatered.

Expect the crappies are out deeper water in the flooded timber around the old creek channel where it follows the bluff line on the south side of the lake.
