| Upper Mississippi River Pools 9-11 backwater lakes have 15 to 18 inches of ice with snow cover. Recent subzero weather has firmed up the ice, but ice anglers should exercise caution with snow cover, especially in areas with current. Main channel ramps remain iced up. |
| Water level at Lansing is currently 8 feet. Recent cold weather has firmed up ice again. Ice is around 18 inches in Shore Slough and Lansing Village Creek. |

| Yellow Perch - Good: Perch fishing should pick up during late winter. |

In nearly all cases, Iowa fish are safe to eat. Cleaning and/or preparing the meal causes most of the problems regarding taste or color of fish. Like all living creatures, fish are susceptible to diseases, parasites, and other naturally occurring conditions in the water. If you suspect your fish is affected by any of these conditions, do not eat it. Consider eating smaller and younger fish which usually have lower levels of contaminants than larger ones.
