Ringneck Ridge Pond is a “walk in” area only as it sits in the far back south portion of the property. There are numerous maintained paths that are mowed making access a little easier. This was last sampled in the summer of 2022 and primarily consists of channel catfish, largemouth bass and bluegill. There is good recruitment of largemouth bass with some up to 15 inches in length. Numerous bluegill were sampled with many of them in the 6 inch to 7.5 inch range. Channel Catfish were in the 20 inch range. - Last updated on 12/17/2025.
In nearly all cases, Iowa fish are safe to eat. Cleaning and/or preparing the meal causes most of the problems regarding taste or color of fish. Like all living creatures, fish are susceptible to diseases, parasites, and other naturally occurring conditions in the water. If you suspect your fish is affected by any of these conditions, do not eat it. Consider eating smaller and younger fish which usually have lower levels of contaminants than larger ones. Most contaminants accumulate in larger, older fish. For additional information, check out our resources for eating and cooking Iowa caught fish.
