Largemouth Bass in 2022 were surveyed at 8- to 11-inches. Larger bass between 15- and 20-inches are present, but not captured during the survey. The yellow perch population is not dense, but the sizes are quality. Surveyed perch were 8- to 11-inches. (2022)

In nearly all cases, Iowa fish are safe to eat. Cleaning and/or preparing the meal causes most of the problems regarding taste or color of fish. Like all living creatures, fish are susceptible to diseases, parasites, and other naturally occurring conditions in the water. If you suspect your fish is affected by any of these conditions, do not eat it. Consider eating smaller and younger fish which usually have lower levels of contaminants than larger ones.   • 2020 - Drawdown-Artificial: Lake level was dropping significantly. Lost roughly one half of lake volume. Excavated and found a clay tile draining the lake on the SW side. Tile was capped and marked with a t-post.
