Fishing Forecast

An electrofishing survey in the spring of 2021 indicated that the fishery in Cocklin's Fish Farm was good. The population density of largemouth bass was high with an average size of 14-inches. Channel catfish 15 to 16-inches are available to anglers. Black crappie, bluegill, and redear sunfish round out the fishery.(2022)

  • 2018 - Vegetation-Treatment: Sonar Q was applied to increase the concentration for Brittle naiad biomass reduction. Original treatment was completed on 6/25/18.

  • 2017 - Vegetation-Treatment: 5.3 acres was treated with 10 gallons of Tribune (diquat) to control curly leaf pondweed.

  • 2016 - Vegetation-Treatment: 5.3 acres was treated with 10 gallons of Tribune (diquat) of suppress curly leaf pondweed.
  • 2015 - Stocking-Channel Catfish: Channel catfish 8" stocked.
  • 2015 - Vegetation-Treatment: Treated 5.3 acres with 8 gallons of diquat to control aquatic vegetation.
  • 2014 - Vegetation-Treatment: Treated 1.5 acres with 3 gallons of diquat to control aquatic vegetation.
  • 2014 - Fish Kills-Dissolved Oxygen: The fish kill was the result of a natural kill caused by low oxygen conditions that developed following an algae die-off.
  • 2013 - Vegetation-Treatment: Reward herbicide was applied to 1.5 surface acres to remove whitewater crowsfoot and improve fishing access.
