Capture zones are determined for each groundwater-based public water supply system using available geologic and hydrogeologic information. Limiting criteria for capture zones include time-of-travel distance and topographically derived areas. Arbitrary fixed radii are used for karst-impacted systems and for systems with inadequate well and geologic data. Susceptibility to contamination from surface sources is determined based on the thickness of confining material above the aquifer. \n\nFor further information, the metadata may be viewed at: ftp://ftp.igsb.uiowa.edu/gis_library/ia_state/hydrologic/ground_waters/source_water/groundwater_capture_zones.html\n\nPWS Names visible between 1:50,000 and 1:250,000", "summary": "", "title": "Groundwater Capture Zones", "tags": [], "type": "", "typeKeywords": [], "thumbnail": "", "url": "", "minScale": 0, "maxScale": 0, "spatialReference": "", "accessInformation": "", "licenseInfo": "" }
