75385 		On 04/23/2018 at ~0911 received a call from Brian Ritter, Executive Director of Nahant Marsh. Mr. Ritter called in regards to a phone call they received from a local resident indicating they had observed a truck with a hose from the truck to the marsh.

This citizen was concerned that something was being pumped into the marsh. The citizen snapped a picture of the truck, but did not get a picture of the hose from the truck to the marsh.

Mr. Ritter indicated he had initially contacted Jeff Harrison, IDNR Conservation Officer. Mr. Harrison informed Mr. Ritter it was his day off, and he would follow up the following day. Mr. Harrison reportedly instructed Mr. Ritter to contact the Field Office.

Due to the time for responding, it was suggested that Mr. Ritter contact the local Sherriff's department and have them investigate. In addition, it was suggested that they considered sampling for common herbicides and pesticides.

As the call concluded, Mr. Ritter indicated he would contact the City to see if someone from the city water quality staff could assist in collecting the samples.

At ~0941 received a copy of the e-mail they had received.

Mr. Ritter was contacted later to remind them that the samples should be sent to a lab certified to perform the tests.
