The following projects are currently advertised for bids. Interested bidders may find general information about each project, as well as printable actual Contract Documents in PDF format. The general information is the same project description provided to Newspapers and by direct mail solicitations. The Contract Documents include the Drawings and the entire Project Manual. Drawings can be printed on any regular or large format printers. The Project Manual includes Proposal Forms, Front End Documents, General and Supplementary Covenants, and Technical specifications. All these are also completely printable.
Effective October 2009, the Department will no longer be responsible for providing hard copy notice to bidders or addenda to either contractors or plan rooms. An email listserv has been created to communicate electronically with vendors currently on file with the DNR. As a member of this listserv, you will receive electronic notice to bidder information on a regular basis.

The existing fishing pier at Lake Ahquabi was built in the early 1990s. The pier needs a renovation as the decking boards, shelter, and handrails are in poor condition and need to be replaced. This project will remove the enclosed shelter, add structural steel to the superstructure and a new, open air, steel shelter will be installed. New treated wood floor joists, composite decking, treated wood handrails, fish cleaning stations, and electrical will be installed. The adjacent boardwalk, concrete building slab, and asphalt trail will be removed and replaced with a new accessible seawall sidewalk to the pier.

This project consists of mechanically removing 177,854 CY of material from the lake bed, placing rock armoring on 5,103 feet of shoreline, and placing fish habitat structures in the lake bottom. Dredge spoil shall be placed in the designated upland spoil site.

The Big Creek State Park Shop and Office was roofed with asphalt shingles a couple decades ago and in need of a new roof. This project will remove the existing roof down to the deck and replace it with a new standing seam steel roof.

This project includes the replacement of a washed out and corroded water control structure with a new concrete box water control structure with aluminum stop logs and other incidental work as required by the DNR Construction Inspector at the Harmon Lake WMA in Winnebago County, Iowa.

This project includes restoration of shallow wetland, approximately 1,400 Linear Feet of tile search, tile break and installing 910 Linear Feet of new tile and other incidental work as required by the DNR Construction Inspector in Winnebago County, Iowa.

This project is designed to install 3 parallel runs of 24 inch Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) to serve as water level management at an existing rock fish barrier located in Christopherson Slough, Dickinson County, IA. Work under this project includes channel excavation (pipe inlet & outlet), installation of 24" CMP pipe, installation of a CMP riser structure, and erosion stone placement.

Pine Lake State Park has a popular beach area that is connected to its parking lot via a trail and tunnel under a county highway. This concrete box culvert is in good condition and will remain in place. However, the retaining walls and stone archway on both sides of the tunnel are in poor condition. This project will remove these retaining walls and archway and replace them with concrete retaining walls with stone veneer applied to the face of the concrete. The adjacent concrete walk and steps shall also be replaced to match the existing elevations.
