The following projects are currently advertised for bids. Interested bidders may find general information about each project, as well as printable actual Contract Documents in PDF format. The general information is the same project description provided to Newspapers and by direct mail solicitations. The Contract Documents include the Drawings and the entire Project Manual. Drawings can be printed on any regular or large format printers. The Project Manual includes Proposal Forms, Front End Documents, General and Supplementary Covenants, and Technical specifications. All these are also completely printable.
Effective October 2009, the Department will no longer be responsible for providing hard copy notice to bidders or addenda to either contractors or plan rooms. An email listserv has been created to communicate electronically with vendors currently on file with the DNR. As a member of this listserv, you will receive electronic notice to bidder information on a regular basis.

THE FISH ROOM AT MANCHESTER FISH HATCHERY WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 1959; LITTLE TO NO UPDATING HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST 60 YEARS. THE BUILDING IS BLOCK AND BRICK, WITHOUT INSULATION, WITH GLASS BLOCK WINDOWS, DOORS ARE ALSO POORLY HUNG AND FRAMES ARE ROTTING AWAY. LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL IS VIOLATING CODE AND THE HUMIDITY LEVEL IS EXTREME. THIS PROJECT WILL REMOVE ALL OF THE DOORS, CEILING FINISH AND INSULATION, ELECTRICAL AND LIGHTING. ALTERNATES WILL INCLUDE REMOVING THE WINDOWS AS WELL. THE PROJECT WILL INSTALL ALL NEW ELECTRICAL AND LIGHTING WITH NEW HDPE CEILING PANELS, 6" OF CLOSED CELL SPRAY FOAM INSULATION, NEW DOORS AND INFILL OF WALL CAVITIES WHERE SPECIFIED AND OVERHEAD HEATERS. ALTERNATES SHALL INCLUDE NEW WINDOWS AND DEHUMIDIFICATION MECHANICAL UNITS.
This project consists of demolishing two restrooms buildings and replacing them with the pre-cast concrete flush restrooms, associated utility hookups, and minor grading.
This project consists of removing 27 electric pedestals and replacing them with 50 amp service pedestals, running new wire, installing new distribution panels, and other incidental work as required by the DNR construction inspector.
This project consists of PCC (~500 LF) and HMA (~4.3 miles) crack and joint cleaning and filling. A bituminous fog seal on HMA surfaces, approximately 172 ton of HMA road widening and 190 ton of transverse joint repair. Approximately 170 ton of granular surfacing and 70 ton of granular shoulder material. Three painted symbols are also included.

This project is designed to provide scour protection to the lake bottom beyond the end of two existing concrete boat ramps. Work under this project includes preparing a lake bottom grade and setting of Articulating Concrete Block Revetment System mats to extend the ramps out twelve feet. All work is at Crystal Lake in Hancock County, Iowa.

This project consists of an approximate 24' replacement of 24-inch RCP, with a FES - all new connections pinned and wrapped. The removal of two culverts (15-inch & 18-inch), the installation of two 18-inch PVC culverts, plus HMA road repairs at those locations. Approximately 21.6 tons of transverse joint repair: 17, 12-inch and 8, 24-inch wide. 265 feet of 12-inch wide longitudinal repair. Two additional HMA patches, ~ 53 SY total for all 5 patches (5-inches thick). Clean and fill cracks on HMA (maintenance) - 1.1 miles of varying width. Crack and joint cleaning and filling - 344 feet of 20' wide PCC (~10' X 18' panels), plus an additional 150' of out of joint crack at the Ventura Access Area. Spread 18.2 ton of 1-inch road rock.
This project includes installing 720 SY of PCC sidewalk and parking lot pavement; and placing granular surfacing on 3,600 LF of existing dirt trail at the Bellevue State Park Nature Center and Butterfly Garden. Cost estimate is $67,000.

The DNR building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds has been a marquee destination for fairgoers for close to 85 years. The DNR believes that the Iowa state fair is an opportunity to showcase it's mission and achievements to the citizens of Iowa during this time. This year, the DNR is proposing a few improvements to improve the look of the building. The rear wall will have new cement board siding with an entry canopy installed on the north end wall. Two new doors will be installed, six (6) electrical outlets and an overhead fan, as shown in the drawings. Polk County 17-05-77-08

This project is designed to remove 4 RCP culverts and replace them with one pipe arch CMP culvert located on the old rail road ROW of Kiowa Marsh, Sac County, IA. The scope of work involves removal of earth fill (±15') over the pipes, removal and disposal of 4 - 65' long sections of 60" RCP, installation of 70' of 87"x63" arch CMP culvert, replacement of earthfill, and seeding with erosion control mat.

The project consists of removal and replacement of 143 SY PCC Pavement and place 39 Ton special backfill at Little Paint Campground, Yellow River State Forest, Allamakee Co., Iowa. No Work from 12 Noon Fridays thru weekend, until the following Monday. Estimated Cost $22,000. Proposal may be obtained by emailing name, address, and phone number.
This project includes installing a pre-cast concrete single unit vault latrine at the North Shore Boat Ramp within Lake Macbride State Park. Includes 50 SF of PCC sidewalk and minor grading. Cost Estimate is $35,000.
