Stream use assessment in Cerro Gordo County.

Basis for Assessment

Stream assessment forms indicate fair habitat quality.   Fair- to-good diversity of substr and pool/riffle development observed.  Frequent channel alterations including pasture use, channelization, rip-rapping, and clearing of riparian vegetation noted.   A whitish color to water observed downstream from Cement facility.   Fairly low diversity of fish species observed.   All tolerant species found at downstream assessment location where seining effectiveness was hindered by rocky substrates.
