Assessment Comments
Assessment is based on (1) IDNR ambient city monitoring upstream form Mason City and (2) two water quality studies conducted for Lehigh Cement Co. in 1994-95.
Basis for Assessment
Used assessment of support of the Class B(WW) aquatic life uses developed for the 1994 report (=FST) along with results of two stream studies conducted by UHL for the Lehigh Portland Cememt Company in 1994 and 1995 to assess support of these uses as FST. Results of Lehigh's 1994 and 1995 studies indicate that the river is not violating water quality criteria for Class B(WW) waters and that both benthic macroinvertebrate and fish populations suggest good water quality.
