Stream use assessment in Muscatine County.

Basis for Assessment

Used a rewview of the field sheet for the August 1991 DNR stream use assessment to change the assessment of support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses from FST to "not assessed" due to lack of sufficient information on the aquatic communities of this stream.  Sampling for fish was conducted and 5 cyprinid species were captured.  Notes on the field sheet, however, suggest that seining was difficult due to large rocks.  Although habitat scores for this stream reach were above average (see 1994 assessment report), more complete information on the status of the aquatic communities is needed to develop an accurate assessment of the degree to which this stream reach supports the Class B(LR) uses.
