Basis for Assessment
Used results of the September 1995 DNR stream use assessment near Dumont to assess support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses as FST due to (1) habitat score (26) better than the overall median score (22) for stream use assessments, (2) indications on field sheet of moderately diverse substrates, several pool/riffle sequences, and only isolated channel alterations, (3) fish score (13) better than the 75th percentile score (10) for assessments made with seines, and (4) presence of a very diverse fish community (22 species from 6 families).
