Basis for Assessment
Used results of the June 1990 DNR stream use assessment to assess support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses as PS due to (1) habitat score (20) worse than the overall median score (22) for DNR stream use assessments, (2) fish score (9) worse than 75th percentile for DNR stream use assessments made with seines (although not all fish species (especially the Notropis) were identified), and (3) comments on field sheet that indicate "extensive channelization." Stream assessment was conducted more than 5 years ago, was one of the earliest DNR stream use assessments; thus, consider this an "evaluated" (vs. a "monitored") Section 305(b) assessment.
