Assessment Comments

Assessment is based on surveys by IDNR Fisheries Bureau.

Basis for Assessment

The 1996 assessment was reviewed and approved by the DNR Fisheries Bureau.   Thus, continue to assess support of the Class A primary contact and Class B(LW) aquatic life uses as FST;  also continue to assess support of fish consumption uses as FS based on results of the 1991 RAFT sampling.   DNR Fisheries, however, identified siltation and nutrients from nonpoint sources, as well as impacts of large populations of carp, as significant threats to the continued support of the beneficial uses designated for this lake.   Thus, this lake was placed on the 1998 list of Section 303(d) waters at the recommendation of the DNR Fisheries Bureau.
