Assessment Comments
Assessment is based on results of fish tissue (RAFT) monitoring.
Basis for Assessment
The sample of channel catfish fillets collected downstream from the Burlington St. dam in 1992 contained 0.41 ppm of tech. chlordane; this is greater than the FDA action level of 0.3 ppm. A follow-up study planned for 1993 could not be conducted due to high flows in the Iowa River. Until the follow-up study is conducted, will assess the fish consumption as FST.
