| 2006 | Class BWW1 | Metals: Aluminum | Ambient monitoring: adjacent state | New data: WQ improvement (chemical / physical / bacterial) |
The Class A1 use remains assessed as "not supported" due to high levels of indicator bacteria (fecal coliforms) reported by the Illinois EPA. The Class BWW1 use was assessed as "fully supported" based on water quality monitoring data. The Class C use was assessed as “fully supported” based on water quality monitoring data and drinking water compliance monitoring required by the DNR. The Class HH use was assessed as "not supported” due to high levels of PCBs in fish tissue and the existing of a one meal per week consumption advisory. The results of interstate consultation via the UMRBA Water Quality Task Force were also used to develop this assessment.

River at
Davenport The Class A1 use remains assessed as “not supported” based on the impairment of
primary contact recreation use identified for this segment of the Upper
Mississippi River by the Illinois EPA for the 2016 IR cycle. The Illinois EPA
identified an impairment of primary contact recreation use in this river
segment due to high levels of indicator bacteria (fecal coliforms). This
assessment was developed as a result of interstate consultation on Section
