Stream use assessment in Linn County.

Basis for Assessment

Used a review of the field sheet from the May 1992 DNR stream use assessment in Linn County to continue to assess support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses as FST due to indications of high quality aquatic habitats with no significant impacts to the physcial characteristics of this stream noted.   Results of sampling of the fish community were incomplete due to difficulty of seining (6 species from 2 families captured).   Supporting evidence, although very old evidence, comes from a 1981 Iowa State University fish survey at the same location.   A total of 10 species from 3 families were collected, with 8 of the 11 fish taxa expected for this subregion present, thus indicating that the Class B(LR) uses are fully supported.
