Assessment Comments
Assessment is based on results of IDNR/UHL biological (biocriteria) monitoring in1998 (Fish IBI= 48(fair)).
Basis for Assessment
SUMMARY: The Class B(LR) aquatic life uses are assessed (evaluated) as "fully supporting / threatened" (minor impacts) based on results of IDNR/UHL biological (biocriteria) sampling in 1998. This is the same assessment as that developed for the 2002 reporting cycle.
EXPLANATION: The assessment was based on the 1998 biological assessment data (see 2000 assessment comments) and the aquatic life use support continued to be assessed as fully supporting / threatened (=FST). The 1998 Fish IBI score was 48 (fair). The aquatic life use support was assessed as fully supporting / threatened (=FST), based on a comparison of the F-IBI score with the biological assessment criteria established specifically for the 2002 Section 305(b) report. Because this assessment is based only one (fish IBI) of the two indexes typically calculated as part of IDNR/UHL biocriteria sampling (fish IBI and macroinvertebrate IBI), the assessment category is considered "evaluated" (lower confidence).
