Basis for Assessment
The only WQC violated was for fecals: 13 samples were analyzed during the two-year period; 9 were collect. at approx average flows; 7 samples had levels of fecals > Class A WQC (=78% =NS). According to VanSteenburg (FO2), Hormel and Excel are two industries likely responsible for high levels of fecals in Cedar R; Hormel has its own WWTP and feedlot. Reach was ended at Mitchell Dam; i.e., fecals would possibly settle out in the Mitchell Impoundment.
